Dr Vignesh Sakthivel

Dr Sakthivel began his psychiatric career in India in 2003 before continuing his training in the United Kingdom, where he obtained his MRCPsych and achieved dual accreditation (CCT) in General Adult and Addiction Psychiatry in 2011. He relocated to Australia in 2022, where he attained his FRANZCP.

He holds a Master of Science in International Addiction Studies, completed through a joint program across the University of Adelaide, Virginia Commonwealth University and King’s College London.

Throughout his career, Dr Sakthivel has worked in acute psychiatric wards, community psychiatric teams, psychiatric intensive care units (PICU) and rehabilitation psychiatry, giving him experience across the full spectrum of patient acuity. His clinical focus spans mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders and addiction psychiatry, with particular interest in the diagnosis and management of adult ADHD. He is multilingual and known for a considered, patient-centred approach to care.
