Dr Ali Mehraban is an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist with more than 20 years of clinical experience across Australia and internationally. He provides comprehensive psychiatric care for adults, adolescents, and older persons through both in-person and telepsychiatry consultations. His approach combines evidence-based treatment with compassionate, collaborative care that respects each person's unique needs, background, and goals.
Dr Ali Mehraban is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) who has worked across public and private mental health services in Queensland and Victoria. He provides comprehensive psychiatric care for a broad range of mental health conditions, supporting patients with accurate diagnosis, evidence-based treatment, and ongoing care.
His clinical interests include ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, borderline personality disorder, dual diagnosis, and complex psychiatric presentations. He develops personalised treatment plans that may combine medication, psychotherapy, psychoeducation, and practical strategies to support each person’s recovery and long-term wellbeing.
Known for his thorough ADHD assessments and thoughtful approach to complex cases, Dr Mehraban works collaboratively with patients to understand their individual experiences, goals, and circumstances. Fluent in Persian and Arabic, he is also experienced in providing culturally responsive psychiatric care for people from diverse backgrounds.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Mehraban has contributed to public mental health programs and non-government organisations. His research has focused on chronic pain, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and the psychosocial aspects of cancer disclosure, reflecting his ongoing commitment to improving mental health care through both clinical practice and academic contribution.
