Dr Ramesh Atikum provides comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing care for adults experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions. He takes a collaborative, patient-centred approach, working closely with each individual to develop treatment plans that reflect their needs, goals, and circumstances while supporting long-term mental wellbeing.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), holds a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Psychiatry from the United Kingdom, and is a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych). He is also undertaking a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Neurology at University College London to expand his clinical expertise further.

His clinical practice includes general adult psychiatry, adult ADHD assessment and treatment, perinatal and maternal mental health, liaison psychiatry, and addiction psychiatry. He cares for adults living with conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, psychosis, postnatal depression, substance use disorders, and dual diagnosis.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Atikum has held senior leadership roles focused on clinical governance, quality improvement, and service development. He has led multidisciplinary teams, contributed to improving care models, and supported initiatives that strengthen healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes.

Dr Atikum is committed to advancing psychiatric practice through education and research. He has served as an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Keele Medical School, mentors psychiatry trainees and other healthcare professionals, presents at international psychiatry conferences, publishes in peer-reviewed journals, and remains actively involved in mental health research.
