Dr Dona is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. She has more than 12 years of experience in psychiatry and has worked in Australia since 2015.
She obtained her medical degree (MBBS) at University of Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2006 and originally trained as a psychiatrist in Sri Lanka and moved to Australia where she has worked in different rural and regional settings in QLD as a general adult psychiatrist.
She has experience across the spectrum of disorders in adults including, psychotic disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders and personality disorders. She has a special interest and experience as a supervisor in long term psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for depression and anxiety disorders as well as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) for borderline personality disorder.
