Dr Burhan graduated from medical school in 1990. Following his graduation, he worked as a medical officer in various specialties in several countries and in various settings including major cities and remote areas before he joined the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry in New Zealand where he completed the training program in Psychiatry.
He was awarded the Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry (FRANZCP) in 2008, subsequently, he completed Advanced Training in Psychiatry of Old Age in Australia and was awarded a Certificate of Psychiatry of Old Age in 2012.
In addition to the years, he spent in the training program as a Psychiatric Registrar, for the last 15 years, Dr Burhan has worked in various Psychiatric services settings, both Public and Private. He treated adult and senior clients for almost all common Psychiatric Disorders.
